COED Magazine (which is getting referred to more and more on this site) just did a plug on girls going too far. Tons of funny pictures if you click over. We have all been there before. Drinking too much, getting out of control and barely making it home. Shit, sometimes we don’t even make it home. It is lucky if we even live through the experience. My guess is that everyone has a story about how they are lucky to be alive. A story about their brush with death or stupidity that should have led to serious ramifications but how we managed to navigate our way through to the end.
I am blessed with several of those stories. I truly am lucky to be here. Some might wonder if luck is the right word. My ex-wife might refer to me still being alive as more of a curse than luck but she is a little jaded so we should discount her opinion. Still in the end I am here, doing my thing, for better or worse. It just makes you wonder at times if your better is good enough and if your worst is acceptable. What is going too far? Is pushing the envelope acceptable or is it at some point too offensive?

Interestingly enough it is all a matter of opinion. If you ask the Catholic group (yes here we go again) their opinion on being gay it is very black and white. If you are gay you will die and go to hell. Damn, now that is drastic. If you are gay you will die and go to hell. No passing go, no collecting your $200, you simply are shit out of luck. Now the majority of religious groups believe this and the majority of the US population is what can be defined as “religious”. How else did George Bush junior get elected to two terms?
“Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?” Ernest Gaines

As our website evolves I have noticed that it is now getting to a point of offending some people. Some of the blogs content and some of the pictures are too much for people to handle. Have we gone too far? We don’t’ post nudity but what is the definition of nudity? We always talk about the line and not crossing it but in our zest for greater achievement has the line blurred? Have we slipped beyond the edge without evening knowing where we were going?
I always question the morals of people and by the definition of “people” I include myself in that generalization. I find it odd that a man I knew casually in my past (met him a few times through a girl I once associated with) finds the site too offensive to be associated with. Now we are each entitled to our opinion. That is the joy of freedom of speech. All of us can choose what we want to be publicly even while living a life in private that is opposed to our public persona. How many religious leaders get caught having affairs? How many Catholic Priests have been reprimanded for fondling little boys? How many politicians get their hand slapped for spanking their girlfriends and then bragging about it in public?

So in the end should we embrace crossing the line? Should we condemn publicly what we embrace privately? Should we own up to who we are and stop the façade of playing dress up?
The one thing I can say is if you drink too much then don’t drive. Other than that you might want to make sure that you have a good group of friends. If you don’t you could end up with your head buried in the toilet, your face written on and pencils stuffed up your nostrils.
Sometimes you feel like a nut.
